                  संशयात्मा विनश्यति

अज्ञश्चाश्रद्दधानश्च संशयात्मा विनश्यति।
नायं लोकोऽस्ति न परो न सुखं संशयात्मनः।। ४/४०

तस्मादज्ञानसम्भूतं हृत्स्थं ज्ञानासिनात्मनः।
छित्त्वैनं संशयं योगमातिष्ठोत्तिष्ठ भारत।। ४/४२

अपने मन में किसी भी संदेह को न आने दो। निष्ठा या अटल विश्वास का अभाव भी इतना अनिष्ट नहीं करता जितना कि संदेह का विष। संदेह का कार्य और परिणाम क्षय रोग के कीटाणु की तरह होता है। अज्ञान से यह उत्पन्न होता है, व्यक्ति के हृदय में के छिद्र में घुसकर वहाँ यह पनपता है। विनाश का यही जन्मदाता है।

इसीलिए इस दैत्य को आत्मज्ञान की तलवार से नष्ट कर दो। उठो अर्जुन ! कर्तव्यबद्ध होकर कार्य करो। मेरे शब्दों पर विश्वास रखो। कार्य के परिणाम पर विचार न कर जो मैं कहता हूं वही करो। निष्काम कर्म के अभ्यासी बनो। इस त्याग से तुम ज्ञान में प्रतिष्ठित हो जाओगे। क्षणभंगुरता और अनित्यता से मुक्त होकर जन्म मरण के बंधन से छूट जाओगे।

“Do not admit doubt into you. Want of faith or steadiness is not as destructive as the venom of doubt. In its operation and consequence, doubt is like the tubercular bacilli. It is born in ignorance, and it penetrates into the cavity of the heart of and breeds there. It is the parent of disaster.
“Therefore, destroy this demon with the sword of self-knowledge (Atma-jnana). Arise, Arjuna! Engage in activity as if duty bound, have full faith in My words, do as I bid with no thought of the fruit therefrom. Be a
practitioner of renunciation of the fruit of action. By that renunciation, you will get established in wisdom and win liberation from change, from birth and death.
